The green lines marked, C, are forces exerted by the club on the ball. The longest is what gives the ball its launch speed. The shorter green line is the frictional force of the club on the ball that causes backspin (counter-clockwise spin).

A Brief Message        Jan 23/04

  • Ken here from Probable Golf Instruction. In my last email to you, I told you a little about Stinger Golf Tees. Review it here.
  • In this issue, I have an explanation of why Stinger Tees allow more distance on tee shots and, some exciting news about my latest study of amateur golf scores.
  • I've completed my analysis of over 1600 scores by golfers handicaps 0 to 36. Over 140 000 matches were simulated and some clear "rules" established.
  • In tests using a mechanical swing robot, balls hit from the Stinger Tee travelled on average 14 yards farther.
  • There has been a lot of analysis of professional scores but not of amateur scores. This study will help remedy that deficiency
Advantage? Low Handicap or High Handicap

  •  My analysis of amateur scores is complete.
  •  Some of the assumptions about low handicaps and high   handicaps have been confirmed; some have been refuted.
  •  Who should one bet on in a net stroke play event, 2-Man Best Ball event, 4-Man Best Ball even, 2-Man Total Net Event, etc.
  • Who has the advantage, if any, in Match Play?
  • Are your golf course's hole difficulty rankings unfair?
  • How many birdies do you make a round? What about your playing partners? Is the a fair birdie game?
  • All these questions are answered along with many more!

See some of the details of the reports HERE.
